On May 25, 2022, the Russians shelled Zaporizhzhia. In particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of the production shops of the Motor Sich plant. Also, one of the missiles landed on the roof of a shopping center in the city center.
According to Valentyn Sotnikov, general director of the shopping center, the missiles hit the floor where the cinema and cafe were located.
"It almost ceased to exist. Vast destruction, but no casualties. There were no people on the premises. The building of the shopping center itself is intact, the case is intact, but there is very significant damage inside, a lot of money is needed to restore everything," Ukrinform quotes him as saying.
Context. The Russians fired four cruise missiles at Zaporizhzhia. One of them was shot down by air defense, three more hit different parts of the city. At least one person was killed and three others were injured.
Along with this, according to the data of the Zaporizhzhia Separate Terrorist Defense Brigade, a truck was blown up by a mine in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
