A new low-cost airline, Flynas, is entering the market of Ukraine. It will operate direct flights from Ukraine to Saudi Arabia, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure reported.
Flynas is a low-cost airline from Saudi Arabia with a fleet of over 30 aircraft. On the Ukrainian market, it will deal exclusively with flights to Saudi Arabia, since there was no direct flight between the countries before. Passengers could only fly by transfer via Turkey (Istanbul), Qatar (Doha), or the UAE (Dubai).
The Ministry of Infrastructure added that the company has been recognized as the best low-cost airline in the Middle East since 2016. Flynas has a weekly air traffic of about 1,200 flights on 35 domestic and foreign routes. In addition, the low-cost airline plans to renew its fleet and has already signed an agreement with Airbus for the supply of 120 aircraft worth $8.6 billion.
The specialized publication Avianews reported that the company has already started selling tickets from Riyadh to Kyiv. The cheapest round-trip ticket for this flight will cost $547, flights will begin on June 11.
Flights will be operated three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The Flynas airliner will depart from Riyadh at 14:10 and arrive in Kyiv at 19:30. The plane will depart from Kyiv at 20:25 and arrive in Riyadh at 01:30 the next day. Accordingly, the trip will take no more than five hours.
Flights to Riyadh from Kyiv will be operated on a seasonal basis until early September.
Context. On March 30, Turkish low-cost airline AnadoluJet began operating flights to Ukraine on the Ankara—Kyiv route. Since April 1, the Ukrainian low-cost airline Bees Airline has opened several new domestic routes—this company flies on 31 routes.
In 2021, holidays will still be marred by coronavirus restrictions. However, with the drop in the incidence, more and more countries are canceling or relaxing quarantines, and that means that Ukrainian tourists will have options where to go on vacation in the summer.
