In Kyiv, a protest action Funeral of microbusiness organized by the activists of the Save FOP movement (FOP from Ukrainian means sole proprietor) is taking place. The action is being broadcast on the movement's Facebook page.
The activists protest against the fiscalization of three types of sole proprietors, as well as against destroying microbusiness in Ukraine. They demand the adoption of bills No. 3853-1(2) and 3993.
The activists planned to march to the Office of the President and the Verkhovna Rada with a coffin and ritual wreaths—symbols of the small business funeral. According to Segodnya, clashes with the security forces began during the action. Law enforcers used tear gas, broke coffins and seized funeral wreaths.
The column headed towards European Square. It is reported that the activists still managed to reach the Office of the President.
Context. At the end of September 2020, entrepreneurs organized protests near the building of the Verkhovna Rada against the imposition of cash registers. On December 1, sole proprietors again staged a rally near the Rada. They demanded that the Rada consider and adopt bills on the postponement of imposing payment transactions recorders and amending the Tax Code.
