On the evening of May 20, 2022, as a result of an enemy shell hit, a fire started on the territory of the market in the Kyivskyi District in Kharkiv. This is reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region.
Outdoor concession stands on an area of 1,000 sq. m were on fire. 10 rescue fire trucks of the State Emergency Service and 60 rescuers were sent to the fire scene. At 00:48 the fire was extinguished.
During the day from May 20 to May 21, rescuers made 40 fire responses, of which 31 were to eliminate fires. Ten of them were caused by shelling.
Fires caused by enemy shelling happened:
- In the Chuhuiv district — 4;
- In Kharkiv — 3;
- In Lozova district — 1;
- In Bohodukhiv district — 1;
- In Kyivskyi district — 1.
Private houses, outbuildings, garages, infrastructure facilities, and natural ecosystems were on fire.
