The Russians no longer feel at home in the occupied Crimea. This is because of the explosions that have become frequent on the peninsula lately. The leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Dzhemilev, told this to the Crimea.Realities news outlet in an interview.
According to him, after the latest series of blasts at Russian military bases in Crimea, people working in the occupation government evacuated their families from the peninsula.
"The sentiments certainly vary. There’s panic — you could see for yourself the enormous queues of cars moving toward Russia. I was told that [the self-proclaimed head of the Crimean government, Sergey] Aksenov, and [the head of the occupational Crimean State Council, Vladimir] Konstantinov, evacuated their families. FSB officers also evacuated their family members. It’s a good sign," Dzhemilev emphasized.
He also said that the Crimean Tatars rejoice when they see it. However, they are still suffering persecution from the occupation government.
"After these events, I called many people in Crimea to know their reaction. And I was alerted when I heard that an analytical note was being spread around, which says that the Crimean Tatars have to be watched closely because it’s their tricks. Back when Crimea was occupied by Russia for the first time under the rule of Catherine II, every excuse was used to expel the Crimean Tatars," Dzhemilev said.
Context. In the last few weeks, explosions have been occuring consistently in the occupied Crimea. Information about the work of air defense systems in the territory of the peninsula comes almost daily.
