The PRIMUS bulk carrier, operated by a Singapore company and sailing under the flag of Liberia, which departed from the port of Odesa on August 26, has reached Romanian territorial sea. Andrii Klymenko, head of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies, reported this on Facebook.
"So, we can say that it’s already the second ship—the PRIMUS (ex-POLARSTAR) bulk carrier, IMO: 9310757—that has used the humanitarian navigation corridor and, having departed from the port of Odesa, safely reached the Romanian territorial sea. Congratulations to everyone who took part in it. Ukraine consistently proves that the Grain Corridor can work without the participation of the aggressor state," he wrote.
This is the second vessel to use the interim corridor for civilian ships. Interestingly, the vessel arrived at Odesa on February 20, 2022, loaded with metal products for African countries and bearing the name Polarstar. However, during the waiting time, the vessel changed its name and, most likely, its owner.
