This year Ukrainians most often named President Volodymyr Zelensky as the politician of the year. At the same time, he topped the rating of "losers" of the year.

This is stated in the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation nationwide poll conducted jointly with the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

The fund noted that in 2020 Ukraine, in fact, was left without a politician of the year. At the same time, 9% of respondents consider the 5th president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to be the politician of the year. Only 15% of respondents favoured Zelensky as the politician of the year.

At the same time, 28% of respondents consider Zelensky to be the loser of the year. Another 14% consider Poroshenko to be the loser of the year.

It should be noted that 46% of Ukrainians considered Zelensky to be the politician of the year in 2019.

Context. In November, Volodymyr Zelensky topped the rating of trust in politicians despite the fact that 60% of respondents are not satisfied with his activities in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. 46% of respondents trust him, 51% do not trust him.
