The land market should be open to all who can cultivate it, including foreign citizens. But the sale of land to foreigners is possible provided that a legal entity is registered in Ukraine and taxes are paid to the budget.
This was announced by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk on the Kyiv-based ICTV TV channel's Svoboda Slova program on Monday.
"In fact, de jure, Ukrainian citizens and Ukrainian legal entities will have access to the right to purchase a land plot," he said, adding that potentially more favorable conditions would be available to Ukrainians, compared to foreigners.
The moratorium on the sale of agricultural land will end on January 1, 2020, if the new parliemnt does not extend it.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskysaid instructed the Cabinet to draft a bill on the agricultural land market by October 1 and adopted the measure before December 1, 2019.
