Born on April 25, 1956 in Vrublivka village, Romanivskyi district, Zhytomyr region.

Education: vocational school №23 in Ivanopil, Zhytomyr region, Malinsky forestry technical school, Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (Now: National Agrarian University).

• 1973 — joiner-carpenter at Zhitomirselkhozstroy.
• 1976-1977 — carpenter at Korosten public catering plant.
• 1977-1987 — operator at Korosten tank plant.
• In 1987-1992, he was deputy director and then as the director of Korosten Municipal Milk Plant.
• In 1992, Petro Rud was appointed for the position of Director of Zhytomyr Butter Plant.

• In 1995, they registered the open joint stock company "Zhytomyr Butter Plant". From that time to the present day, Petro Rud is the chairman of the board of the enterprise.
• In 1998, they registered the trade mark "Rud."

• In 1998, Petro Rud ran for parliament from the Agrarian Party of Ukraine under No. 88 in the list. He failed to pass, though. Back then, the head of the political force was the people's deputy Vashchuk Kateryna, and in the following convocations, she was a member of the Lytvyn Bloc and the Party of Regions.
• In 2010, he was elected a deputy of the Zhytomyr Regional Council from Our Ukraine.
• In 2015, he became a deputy of the Zhytomyr City Council from the party Block of Petro Poroshenko "Solidarity." There are also three Rud's employees in the faction. They are deputies Larisa Zhygadlo, Olha Blazhkevych and Oleh Gubatiuk. They all work at enterprises belonged to the businessman.

According to CHESNO, Petro Rud is one of the deputies who miss most of sessions.

• In 2018, he missed more than half of the committee meetings (59%) and half of the sessions (47%). Back in 2017, Rud rarely visited the City Council as well.

Petro Rud is one of the TOP-100 richest Ukrainians. Novoe Vremia magazine and investment company Dragon Capital estimate his fortune at $53 million.

According to the declaration, the deputy has two houses (530 and 200 sq.m.), 3200 sq.m. of land in Dovzhik village, Zhytomyr region. A house, a bathhouse, a gazebo, a utility room and 2000 sq.m. of land in Svitiaz village near the famous lake in Volyn.

Petro Rud also indicates an apartment in the Czech Republic, bought in 2014 for UAH 5.2 million, and an office in Kyiv of 434 sq.m.

The deputy has a Toyota Land Cruiser, a boat, and a trailer.

In 2019, Rud's income was UAH 19.7 million, including the salary, pension, royalties, interest and income from renting out property.

In the businessman's bank accounts, there are UAH 50 million, € 318,000, and $593,000. Another 47.7 million are indicated in the declaration as reimbursable financial assistance to the Zhytomyr Butter Plant, daughter Oksana and her company Ice Team.

• Wife: Natalia Rud (Opanasyuk), born on March 27, 1959. According to the photos on social media, she also works in the family business.

• Daughter: Oksana Vivsyk, born on December 5, 1979. Oksana is the chairwoman of the Supervisory Board and co-owner of Rud.

• Son-in-law: Vivsyk Sergiy, born on July 20, 1977. He grew up and finished school in Vrublivka, a village where Petro Rud was born. Now, Sergiy is the General Director of the Rud company.

The couple has three children. The elder Anastasiya is studying at Coventry University, UK.

Last year, she got married, her husband is graduate of Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine Nikita Helia.

In 2017, the Zhytomyr City Council sold Anastasiya a land plot in the center of Zhytomyr. According to the media, they were going to open a cafe with a summer terrace there.

The middle daughter Sophia turned 17 in July 2020.

And the youngest son was born in December 2015.

• In 2015, SSU informed the regional police that unknown persons got the shares of the Zhytomyr Butter Plant. There were opened criminal proceedings for committing fraud.

It is known that the criminals managed to conduct the fraud with the help of a fake execution writ by the Voroshilovsky court of Donetsk.

During the investigation, it turned out that the court had not made any decisions considering the Zhytomyr Butter Plant, and Judge Lobzyuk, who allegedly was in charge of this case, did not exist at all.

• In September 2016, according to the local website Zhytomyr Online, Petro Rud got into an accident. The journalists stated that the businessman was driving his Mercedes and another car caused the accident by cutting Rud's car. He was taken to the hospital with a severe head injury.

According to the register of court decisions, the accident happened in the Novohrad-Volynskyi district. In the car together with Rud, there was also Volodymyr Chernyshevych, the head doctor of the Regional sanatorium of radiation protection for the adult and child population of the Zhytomyr Regional Council.

The doctor got a head injury, a broken nose and wounds on the face.

The perpetrator of the accident also injured his three passengers. They received fractures and bruises. However, during the trial, none of the victims had any claims against the driver. And due to his sincere remorse, the case was closed. It is known that the man's name is Sergiy Miskevich, he is 46 years old now.

Only last year, the Novohrad-Volynsk prosecutor's office managed to get the money from the driver (UAH 14,000) through the court to cover the expenses of the accident victims on medical treatment.

• In 2005, by the decree of President Viktor Yushchenko Petro Rud was awarded the Order of Merit, III degree.
• In 2012, he became an honorary citizen of Zhytomyr.
• Petro Rud does is acknowledged for their significant to charity contributions. In 2015, Zhytomyr kindergartens received a computer, a music center, medical equipment, and the kids received gifts for St. Nicholas Day.

The businessman also mentioned that he constantly helps the ATO soldiers, in particular, the 95th Air Assault Brigade.

• In 2019, President Petro Poroshenko awarded Petro Rud the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree.
• In 2020 during the coronavirus epidemic, Petro Rud bought disposable coveralls and shoe covers for the Zhytomyr Regional Clinical Hospital.
