Biography
Born on August 9, 1959 in Hlynets village, Lviv region.
Education: Lviv Cooperative College, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics.
Halyna is a co-owner of two construction hypermarket chains: Epicentr K and Nova Linia .

Career
In 1983-1988, she worked as an industrial training master at the Kyiv culinary school.
In 1988-1993, Halyna was a Senior Process Engineer at Association 906 (the Higher Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine).
1994-1998, she is a Deputy Director at Hlybochytsia.
Since 1997, she worked as a Financial Director at Cermet AGS.
In 2003, together with her husband and sister Tetiana Surzhyk, she founded the construction hypermarket chain Epicentr K. In Epicentr K LLC, she worked as CFO.

Politics
Halyna was a Deputy of the Kyiv City Council of the fifth (2006-2008) and sixth (2008-2014) convocations. She was a member of the Kyiv Civil Activists faction.
In 2011, she became the secretary of the Kyiv City Council.
In 2012, she ran for parliament in the 215th constituency (Troieshchyna, Kyiv), but lost to Andriy Illenko from Svoboda party.
Since 2012, she carried mayor's duty in Kyiv after Leonid Chernovetskyi left office. Alexander Popov was then appointed head of the Kyiv state administration, and he actually ruled the city.
Gerega held the position of secretary at the Kyiv City Council until May 2014. When her term was over, the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko did not prolonged her contract.
Halyna and Oleksandr Gerega are co-chairmen of the political party «Za Konkretni Spravi», founded in 2015. The head of the political force is Volodymyr Povovroznyk, a former police chief and mayor of Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region.

Wealth
Novoe Vremia magazine and investment company Dragon Capital estimates Gerega's fortune at $930 million. The media Focus estimates his fortune the same, while Forbes estimates family income at $1.3 billion.
According to the official declaration, Gerega family has 37.25 hectares of land in Novosilky village, Kyiv region, and 13 sq.m. of land and a mansion (240 sq.m) in Mala Oleksandrivka village, Boryspil district, Kyiv region
Apart from that, they own three mansions and 45 sq.m. of land in Spain, another 14.5 sq.m. of land, two houses, and three apartments (888 m2, 302 m2, 189 m2) in Kyiv, and one in the Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region. Halyna has two cars: BMW and Porsche.
The family owns shares for UAH 3.1 million in the venture investment fund Oferent (the fund is the owner of Agrohoding 2012 LLC) and have declared shares in Epiagro Holding Limited in Cyprus.
Oleksandr Gerega's share in Epicenter K LLC is 51.3%, Halyna's share is 47.97%, and her sister Tetiana Surzhyk's share is 0.73%.
Over the last year, the family earned UAH 58.4 million, including salaries, interest and dividends. They have UAH 58.8 million, $150,000 and €558,000 on their bank accounts.
The couple also has UAH 9.7 million, $1.95 million, €1.7 million and 480,000 Swiss francs in cash.

In an interview, Halyna Gerega said that she had been friends with the artist since school time.

'Oleksandr Pavlovich and I have strong partnership and complete mutual understanding, so I don't think I am overshadowed by him,' Halyna Gerega was complimenting Popov while working in the Kyiv City Council.
Popov is accused on "Maidan cases." It was him who ordered Berkut to hit activists on November 30, 2013 as they had allegedly prevented to assemble the New Year tree. Videos of people being hitting and beating on Maidan were showed all over the world.
On December 1, 2014, the protest actions were supported by millions of people. On the same day, activists took the building of the Kiev city state administration under their control.
Oleh Zarubinskyi

Former People's Deputy of four convocations. He was in the Lytvyn Bloc and Party of Regions.
Together with Gerega, Zarubinskyi founded the public organization Ukrainian Institute of Research of Extremism. The organization studies manifestations, influence sources and threats of extremism in Ukraine. The organization employees often comment in the media on current events.
For example, the deputy director of the institute Bohdan Petrenko shared his opinion with channel 112 that the society has a request to put Petro Poroshenko in jail.
Vasyl Khmelnytsky

Founder of holding company UFuture, former MP and former shareholder of Zaporizhstal.
Halyna Gerega went to the Kyiv City Council from the political faction Kyiv Civil Activists that is considered to be associated with Khmelnytsky. The head of the faction in the Kyiv City Council was Olexandr Pabat, a well-known politician in Kyiv.
In 2019, in Bila Tserkva near Kyiv, there was opened Plank Electrotechnic, a plant manufacturing electrical accessories. The founders of the enterprise are Vasyl Khmelnytsky and Cypriot company Parteli Holdings Limited. The owner of the offshore company is Moscow resident Sergey Martynov.
Plank Electronics products are sold at Epicentr.

Family
Husband: Oleksandr Gerega.
Son: Taras Gerega, born on November 27, 1994 in Kyiv. He was studying in Switzerland. According to the Ministry of Justice, Taras is the founder of Epicentr of Football LLC and the co-founder of Clubhouse Diamant LLC, one of the most expensive buildings in Kyiv. The building is located on Shevchenko boulevard, and among the property owners, there are Serhiy Taruta's daughter Tetiana and Viktor Medvedchuk's wife Oksana Marchenko.
Taras was also the manager of Real Madrid during the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv.
'I want to become the world's youngest sports director. I know that the youngest sports director in the world is 35 years old. I think I still have a few years,' 24-year-old Gerega Jr. told reporters back then.
Tatiana is a co-founder of Epicentr, she owns a 0.73% stake in the company.
'Oleksandr was a director, his wife was a financial director, and Tetiana Surzhyk, Halyna's sister, was purchasing imported tiles," the media describes the start of Gerega's "small family business."

In 2018, the prosecutor's office demanded through the court confiscate a land plot in the Holosiivskyi National Nature Park from Tetiana Surzhyk. It was proved in the court that in 2008 she illegaly got 1500 sq.m. of land from the Kotsiubynske village council.
There is little information about Tetiana. She lives in Obolonarea in Kyiv and has two daughters. One of the girls indicates on social media that she studies in Switzerland.

Scandals
In 2013, Halyna Gerega, together with Oleksandr Popov, head of the Kiev City State Administration, solemnly planted ruby rose Italian horse chestnuts Briotti on Khreshchatyk.
Later, it turned out that only two of 289 trees were Italian, while the rest were common horse chestnuts. The prosecutor's office blamed them in UAH 1 million waste on purchasing chestnuts.
On December 23, 2013, Fatherland party deputies called on the secretary of the Kyiv City Council Halyna Gerega to withdraw the claims against Euromaidan.
'There have been issued several court proceedings on the claims and resolutions, and on their basis, law enforcement agencies can attack participants in peaceful protests. We demand that Gerega finally take responsibility and stop the possible bloodshed,' the deputies explained.

Basing on the claims of the Kyiv City Council, the Kyiv District Administrative Court banned peaceful demonstrations in Kyiv until March 8, 2014. Gerega did not recall any of the claims.

Crime
In 2013, Secretary of the Kyiv City Council Halyna Gerega appealed to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office with a demand to open a criminal case against the "hooligans" who allegedly broke into the city hall, hit the policemen and blocked the tribune in a the Kyiv City Council session hall.
Back then, there were clashes between the people's deputies and special police Berkut that cordoned off the Administration entrance. Opposition members, including Svoboda party member Andriy Illenko and the Fatherland leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk, protested against the illegal Kyiv City Council. At that time, it had been working for over five years. The deputies were actively "distributing" land at that time.
That day, Liliya Hrynevych received a concussion, other MP's were also injured.
