The brand has been ranked among the most popular cars for several years, with Renault being ahead of it. In 2019, Ukrainians bought 12,618 new Toyota cars, in 2018 — 9,631 cars.

Also, Toyota Ukraine is included in the TOP-100 largest companies in the country in 2019. According to the State Fiscal Service, in 2018 the car dealer paid UAH 599.9 million in taxes to the budget. According to media reports, the company earned UAH 10.43 billion in 2018.

• Since 2004, the official dealer chain has sold more than 100,000 Toyota vehicles. In 2009, Toyota became the leader among importers in terms of car sales.

• At the end of 2013 (before the annexation of Crimea), Toyota was among the sales leaders, it had 6.3% of the car market in the region. Now, sales outlets also openly sell Japanese cars, however, they call themselves not dealers, but partners.

'While to the officials the cars are delivered by the importer, the transportation to Crimea is covered by the Crimean dealers. And, even in spite of this, the final cost is absolutely the same as the importer recommends, so it does not differ even a bit from the car price on the mainland,' the Avtodel salon writes.

• In 2017, the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories found out that international auto brands continue to work in the annexed Crimea, despite EU and US sanctions. Moreover, Toyota cars kept on selling on the peninsula. The ministry declared that they complained to the relevant authorities.
• In 2018, Toyota Ukraine was involved in high-profile criminal proceedings. Through the court, investigators got access to the documents of large companies with foreign investments, including Huawei, Samsung, Adidas, Kyivstar, and Nova Poshta.

They explained that they suspected companies of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad and tax evasion.

Allegedly, two companies (Promotion Outsourcing and Promotion Staff) from Kyiv provided the companies with qualified employees and got money for it. According to the law enforcement officials, employees of the enterprises did not know they were working in the outsourcing companies, did not know the management, and did not know where their offices were.

'The detriment of the State was more than UAH 955 million,' states the register of court decisions.

Lawyers explain that Ukrainian legislation does not clearly define the mechanisms of personnel management including outsourcing and outstaffing of personnel.

They show how efficient the optimizing business processes are. The criminal proceedings are being investigated up until now, however, Toyota-Ukraine is no longer mentioned in it.

• In 2019, it turned out that Auto-Plaza, an official representative of Toyota-Ukraine in Kherson, used the services of a local water utility bypassing the meters.

According to the audit, the businessmen made a tie-in to someone else's pipeline and established a car wash. The economic court of Kherson region fined the company UAH 7.5 million. The co-owner of the dealership in Kherson is the deputy of the City Council Borzhkov Valerii.
