Scandals
In 2014, Capital website wrote that Intertop chain uses a scheme of artificially lowering the invoice goods' value at customs, as they allegedly used the banking details of technical enterprises to generate super-profits.
'The owners of the Intertop retail chain get super- profits. At customs, prices are reduced by 5-12 times. A pair of shoes that get customs clearance for UAH 93 is sold for UAH 1,200 in a store,' said First Deputy Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Khomenko.
profiles
MTI assured that the company does not provide customs clearance of its goods and does not work with customs, since it purchases shoes from suppliers and manufacturers in Ukraine.
Now, the National Police is investigating the activities of the State Enterprise Center of the State Land Cadastre and the companies that supplied them with equipment. The employees are suspected of theft, fraud, and forgery.
During the investigation, they found out that in 2018-2019, a private company sold equipment to the State Migration Service for UAH 41.2 million. According to the documents, it was bought from MTІ for 25.5 million, but there were no invoices for the equipment.
According to the police, the equipment was second-hand, it was previously written off as obsolete and then smuggled into Ukraine. Now, the investigators are trying to figure out who is involved in the supplies, so they asked the court for access to the documents that are kept in the State Tax Service.
