Biography
Born June 27, 1967 in Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region.
Education: Khmelnitsky cooperative trade and economic college, Lviv Academy of Commerce.
In 1998, he got married with Halyna Gerega and took her last name.

Career
In 1990-1991, Oleksandr worked as a freight forwarder in Horodok. Then, started selling coffee and chocolate purchased from the National Sports Fund in Moscow.
In 1994, he started selling imported from Poland ceramic tiles. He opened an office on Gorky Street in Kyiv.
In 1996, Oleksandr and his wife Halyna opened their first store (Petra Zaporozhtsia Street, 15) in Kyiv. Oleksandr was a director, his wife was a financial director, and Tetiana Surzhyk, Halyna's sister, was purchasing imported tiles.
'It was a 25-square-meter room. We put a table in the middle of the room, put 25-30 types of tiles upon it, advertised the tiles in Aviso and started a business. In 1997, we supplied from a number of factories in Poland, Spain, and Italy,' Gerega recalls.

The first family company Cermet AGS exists up till today at the same address. Now, its owners are Bahrii Vitalii, an assistant to MP Oleksandr Gerega in the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation, and Yurii Yakovlev, a director of a regional Epicentr.
In 2003, Oleksandr Gerega founded Epicentr-K LLC. The first construction hypermarket was opened on Bratyslavska street in Kyiv. Now in the store chain, there are 59 shopping centers of over 1 million square meters.

Politics
In 2012, Oleksandr Gerega was elected People's Deputy for the 192nd electoral constituency. He was a member of the Party of Regions faction and left it on February 21, 2014, the day after the activists were killed on Maidan and President Viktor Yanukovych fled from the Mezhyhirya Residence to Kharkiv.
In parliament, Gerega was several times accused on "ghost voting". And on January 16, 2014, he voted for "dictatorial" laws.
In the fall of 2014, in early elections to the Rada, Gerega won in the 192nd electoral constituency in the Khmelnytskyi region. He was supported by 68,890 people (73.86% of the votes).
In 2015, he created the political party «Za Konkretni Spravi».
In 2019, he again won the elections in the 192nd constituency. He was supported by 45% of voters. Gerega is a member of the deputy group "For the Future" associated with Ihor Kolomoisky.

Wealth
Novoe Vremia magazine and investment company Dragon Capital estimates Gerega's fortune at $930 million. The media Focus estimates his fortune the same, while Forbes estimates family income at $1.3 billion.
According to the official declaration, Gerega family has 37.25 hectares of land in Novosilky village, Kyiv region, and 1300 sq.m. of land and a mansion (240 sq.m) in Mala Oleksandrivka village, Boryspil district, Kyiv region.
Apart from that, they own three mansions and 4500 sq.m. of land in Spain, another 1450 sq.m. of land, two houses, and three apartments (888 m2, 302 m2, 189 m2) in Kyiv, and one in the Horodok, Khmelnytskyi region. Halyna has two cars: BMW and Porsche.
The family owns shares for UAH 3.1 million in the venture investment fund Oferent (the fund is the owner of Agrohoding 2012 LLC) and have declared shares in Epiagro Holding Limited in Cyprus.
Oleksandr Gerega's share in Epicenter K LLC is 51.3%, Halyna's share is 47.97%, and her sister Tetiana Surzhyk's share is 0.73%.
Over the last year, the family earned UAH 58.4 million, including salaries, interest and dividends. They have UAH 58.8 million, $150,000 and €558,000 on their bank accounts.
The couple also has UAH 9.7 million, $1.95 million, €1.7 million and 480,000 Swiss francs in cash.

Son: Taras Gerega, born on November 27, 1994 in Kyiv. He was studying in Switzerland. According to the Ministry of Justice, Taras is the founder of Epicentr of Football LLC and the co-founder of Clubhouse Diamant LLC, one of the most expensive buildings in Kyiv. The building is located on Shevchenko boulevard, and among the property owners, there are Serhiy Taruta's daughter Tetiana and Viktor Medvedchuk's wife Oksana Marchenko.
Taras was also the manager of Real Madrid during the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv.
'I want to become the world's youngest sports director. I know that the youngest sports director in the world is 35 years old. I think I still have a few years,' 24-year-old Gerega Jr. told reporters back then.

Scandals
In January 2020, Slidstvo.Info journalists found two undeclared villas in Spain on the Mediterranean coast that belong to Gerega. They say, according to an extract from the real estate register, Halyna and her husband bought two neighboring houses in Benicasim in 2017 and 2018. One villa is more than 100 years old, and it costs about 6 million euros. However, both villas were not mentioned in the declaration.
According to the last declaration of MP Gerega, the family indeed has two villas. One villa costs UAH 62 million, and the other one costs 30 million. It is also indicated that Halyna owns all the overseas real estate, and the purchases were indeed made in 2017 and 2018.
