The Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings on a coup d'etat in the country that a number of persons were preparing. This fact was mentioned by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the press marathon. Department investigators are carrying out a pre-trial investigation.
"The proceedings are open under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—on preparation of actions by individual citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation aimed at seizing state power," is stated in the report.
The SSU press service did not specify the number of suspects and their persons.
Context. On November 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at the press marathon dedicated to the equator of his cadence that he had received information about the preparation of a coup d'etat in Ukraine and about Rinat Akhmetov's alleged involvement in it. However, the President noted that he "does not believe in coups."
