In June, the Spike TK 1054 tractor, manufactured in Kropyvnytskyi by Agro Kar, was included in the state compensation program for farmers of 25% of the cost of purchased equipment. This suggests that the company has become not only a supplier of agricultural machinery, but also its manufacturer. Earlier, Spike rotary harrows were included in the state compensation program.
The head and co-owner of Agro Kar Andrey Teplyuk told that he gave the company the status of a domestic tractor manufacturer and what investments this required.
How much did it cost to create Ukrainian tractors
The first presentation of tractors took place in November 2024. Then it was said that the company was striving to localize the production of tractors and other equipment as much as possible, attracting component manufacturers from all over Ukraine. To establish cooperation, it joined the Ukragromash association.

The company announced the start of serial production of Spike TK tractors in April 2025. The head of Agro Kar, Andriy Teplyuk, said that 70 machines are planned to be produced in 2025. Four models of tractors with different power will be produced.
Agro Kar invested UAH 30 million in launching tractor production. In September, it plans to switch from a stationary to a conveyor production in a new 2,000 sq. m. workshop under construction. The total investment in the project is about UAH 100 million. This was announced in April by Dmitry Kisilevsky, deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development.
He noted that Agro Kar took advantage of several government support programs to implement the project:
- UAH 30 million – under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program;
- UAH 8 million – a grant for the processing industry to purchase a modern machine for laser cutting of metal.
The MP added that to achieve the required level of localization, the company attracts the following domestic manufacturers of spare parts and components:
- hydraulics and distributors — from the company Gidrosila (Kropyvnytskyi);
- radiator units — Promtransenergo (Sumy).
- oils — SP Yukoil (Zaporozhye);
- control cables — Tekhnoprivod (Rivne);
- high-pressure hoses — Motorimpex (Kalush);
- batteries — Ista-Center (Dnipro);
- glass — Safe Glass Factory (Berdichev);
- polymers and rubber seals, tanks — Poli Plast (Kropyvnytskyi);
- wires and harnesses — Mac Farmer (Kropyvnytskyi).
Negotiations are also underway to adapt to the requirements of the production of tires "Rosava" (Bila Tserkva) and wheel disks "Konsima" (Dnipro).

Blitz interview with the co-owner and head of the company Agro Kar
Have you already acquired the official status of a domestic tractor manufacturer?
- We have passed all the difficult stages of inspections and are at the final stage of confirming the status of a domestic tractor manufacturer.
Specialists from the Ukrainian Research Institute named after Leonid Pogorely have thoroughly familiarized themselves with the equipment and production conditions, conducted an audit and tested the equipment for compliance with the declared technical characteristics.
We already have a Type Approval Certificate for the production line of the 60, 90, 105 horsepower tractor model range, as well as a Certificate of compliance with the quality management system DSTU EN ISO 9001:2015, IDT for production and wholesale trade.
What does this give to the company?
- First of all, trust. And it also opens the door to participation in state support programs and allows our clients to receive compensation.
What was the internal preparation for obtaining this status?
- These were months of painstaking analysis, documentation development, localization organization, communications with suppliers. The most difficult thing is to organize the production process so that we have confidence in every detail. We did not just assemble a tractor — we built a system.
Judging by the official reporting data, your income and net profit in 2024 increased by 1.5-2 times. How did such a leap occur?
- This is the result of systematic work. We expanded the team, launched new products, improved processes and started production. Business is like a field: if you sow wisely and on time, there will definitely be a result. In 2023, we paid UAH 4.5 million in taxes. In 2024, such deductions doubled — about UAH 9 million. The amount of planned investments in tractor production is UAH 130 million.
We are currently completing the construction of a 2,000 square meter building for conveyor production of tractors. This facility will allow us to increase production volumes, create at least 25 additional jobs, expand the model range, and increase the level of localization. The company's goal is to form a powerful Ukrainian tractor manufacturer on the basis of its enterprise within the next three years.
How is the demand for agricultural machinery changing?
- Now the most relevant is multifunctional, energy-efficient and quickly paybacked machinery. Farmers have become even more rational. And they are our main customers. Among the clients are also medium-sized farms, large agricultural holdings, as well as forestries, public utilities and agricultural lyceums.
According to your observations, how are Ukrainian farmers changing?
- Today, a Ukrainian farmer is an entrepreneur who adapts to new challenges every day. Before the full-scale war, the agricultural sector paid a lot of attention to climate change and fluctuations in product prices. Now, problems with logistics, energy supply, staff shortages, and security issues have been added to this. Despite all this, agricultural producers are becoming even more resilient, more technologically advanced, and attentive to efficiency, economics, and quality.
